Erie Hopper Sportfishing Charters

I have been a professional full-time licensed captain and fishing guide for the past 26 years.  Taking people fishing IS my full-time job!  You can see me regularly on John Gillespie's Woods and Waters television show. 

Fishing has always been a huge part of my life.  For me, there is nothing more enjoyable than giving my customers the greatest fishing experience of their lives.

On Erie Hopper Charters, fishing is only part of the charter experience.  I will not only teach you how to catch fish, but will also explain the diverse ecosystem that makes Lake Erie such a fantastic fishery.  My goal of any charter is to make sure that everyone on board catches fish and has FUN!

My boat, the Erie Hopper, is not the standard fishing boat seen on Lake Erie.  It is a 2004 custom-built, 30' Island Hopper with a roomy 12' beam.  With over twice the back deck space of most charter boats, this boat was built for fishing.  John Gillespie, Woods & Water's host has stated that, "It is probably the finest boat that I've ever fished out of."  I use state-of-the-art electronics including the latest fishing-finding, communication and Global Positioning satellite navigation equipment.
